About
Hi! I'm Alexis! Welcome to my blog!
I am originally from Arizona, where my husband, Kolt, and I met in high school. After graduating high school, joining the Army and a year long tour in Iraq, Kolt and I began dating..... Long distance. We got married eleven months later after Kolt got out of the Army in 2005.
In 2008 Kolt joined the Coast Guard and that was the start of all of our travels. After a couple years in San Diego and six months of school in North Carolina, Kolt received orders to Sitka, Alaska in 2011. And that is where my blog and our first child, Brinleigh Dilan, were born.
I started blogging to keep our family and friends back home up to date on all of our adventures in Alaska. And then it became the easiest way to keep everyone involved in my pregnancy and our little family's life in the Last Frontier.
Sitka is a tiny town on an Island with only 17ish miles of paved road. There were two seasons: Really cold- usually consisted of ice and snow and Kinda cold- a sweatshirt or light jacket will suffice. Because it rained 98% of the year and there wasn't a whole lot to do, I had to find things that I was interested in. This is where I realized how much I enjoyed blogging. Towards the end of our time in Alaska I started to find how much I really enjoyed crafting too.
In 2014 we transferred to Clearwater, Florida, where our son, Easton Ryder was born. With A LOT more to do and our little family slowly growing, I've had less and less time for blogging. So my blog posts have become fewer and far between but I am currently trying to catch up and get back into the groove of writing. Even if that means short and sweet posts.
Now that we have a third baby, Harper Aidan, and new orders to Kodiak, Alaska, I've decided to get more active on the blog again. Hopefully with the slower pace of life that comes with living in Alaska, I will have more time for writing.
